Hi Everyone,

My apprentice and I recently participated in a local cake decorating competition organized by Bake-It-Yourself, a local business. The theme was Singapore's National Day which will be celebrated very soon on the 9th of Aug.

Every contestant has 3 hours to individually decorate their cake from scratch. You had to bring your ready baked cake, either carved, single tiered or stacked, already iced or covered in fondant, but everything else had to be done within the 3 hr time limit.

My concept for this cake was to depict Singapore as a vibrant, tropical island city. Hence the cake is surrounded by sandy beaches and the sea, the 2nd tier shows our British colonial heritage through the architecture of our old shop houses. The third and forth tier show our modern city with skyscrapers shooting for the skies.

The entries are now posted on Bake-It-Yourself's page and the winner is the one whose picture recieves the most "Likes". Please show your support and vote for mine and my colleague's cake.

1. To vote, you have to first log into your facebook account, go to the Bake-It-Yourself page and click the "Like" button at the top.

2. Next, go to the competition entry and click the "Like" button just below the picture. This will count as a vote for my entry.

3. Since you can vote for more than one entry, please also vote for my colleague's cake and click on the "Like" button as well.

It'll all take less than a minute so I hope many of you will vote. If possible, tell all your friends, family, colleagues, pets, anyone with a Facebook account can vote! The closing date for voting is 25th JULY.
